AV control system programming and integration by IKBSystems.
Custom Programming

Powerful systems made simple to use.

The IKBSystems Difference

In-house programming by the same team that designs and builds the system.

We handle all control programming. Every processor, touch panel, and device configuration is written and tested by a team that understands the system as a whole. No outsourced code. One unified team that owns the space from the initial wiring to the final user interface, ensuring everything works together flawlessly.

How We Work

Layers of Control

Scope & Requirements

Understand the room, the users, and the operational workflows before writing a single line of code. What does this space need to do? Who uses it? What should happen when they walk in?

Interface Design

Design the touch panel experience first. What the user sees, touches, and expects drives everything underneath. Clear labels, logical groupings, minimal steps.

Control Architecture

Build the backend logic, signal routing, conditional states, and device communication to serve the interface. The complexity lives here so the user never sees it.

Deployment & Testing

Load programs to processors, verify every route and scenario under real conditions.

Refinement

Tune, adjust, and iterate in the live space.

Common Questions

What does AV programming usually involve?
Programming in commercial AV is about giving the room a brain. We write logic that runs inside a control processor, telling all the disconnected hardware like displays, cameras, microphones, and switchers how to communicate and work together. This is tied to a custom touch panel interface designed specifically for your team, allowing anyone to control the entire system effortlessly without understanding the complex routing happening behind the scenes.
What control platforms do you program?
Crestron is the backbone of the systems we deploy, and our depth with the platform is a core part of what we offer.
Can you reprogram a system that was installed by another integrator?
Certainly. We regularly take over programming on existing systems installed by other firms. We assess the current hardware, document what is in place, and write new programming that brings the system up to your operational standard.
How do you design the touch panel interface?
We start with how your team actually uses the room, then design the interface around those real workflows. Layouts are reviewed with stakeholders before deployment to make sure labels, navigation, and button placement match how people think about the space.
What happens if we add equipment or change rooms later?
Programs are written to be extensible and modifiable. Adding a source, swapping a display, or reconfiguring a room layout is a programming update, not a ground-up rebuild. We can also provide ongoing programming support through a Lifecycle Management agreement.
Do you handle DSP tuning as part of the programming scope?
Yes. DSP configuration, EQ, routing, gain structure, and level management can all be part of a programming scope, when applicable. Audio and control are synchronized so that volume, muting, and zone routing all respond correctly to the interface and room state.
How long does programming typically take?
A single conference room might take a day. Multi-room or campus-wide environments with complex routing and shared resources take longer. Programming timelines are scoped during the design phase so expectations are set before work begins.
Can we request changes after the system is deployed?
Post-deployment refinement is a normal part of the process. Volume curves, button labels, routing preferences, and automation behaviors are all adjustable after the system goes live. Programming is typically delivered as part of a full Systems Integration project, which includes a warranty period with direct access to IKBSystems for adjustments.
