An AV systems integration project by IKBSystems.
Systems Integration

Rooms that work the first time.

The IKBSystems Difference

Most AV projects fail because the team that designed the system isn't the team that installed it. We eliminated that handoff.

IKBSystems is a single-source design-build integrator. One team owns your project from the first conversation through commissioning and training. No silos between design, installation, and programming. Every system is built from a specification, tested against it, and delivered with the training and documentation that eliminate callbacks.

How We Work

The Integration Process

01

The Conversation

Every project starts with a conversation. Not a pitch. We want to understand where you are today, where you want to be, and what's between those two points. Your people, your space, your workflow, and your goals. Everything we learn here becomes the foundation for a system with no surprises.

02

Before We Build

Requirements become a buildable specification. Equipment selections, signal flow, and room layouts are developed and reviewed with you. Engineering validates every design decision, including site conditions, so every specification is verified before anything reaches the field. This is where we plan for our one-touch policy: every component installed correctly the first time.

03

Prep & Staging

Equipment is ordered to the approved specification and tracked through delivery. As product arrives, it's staged and prepared. Electronics are configured and control programs are written, all before we set foot on your site. Field time is spent installing, not problem-solving.

04

Build

Every system layer and connection point is installed in order, by the same team that designed it. This means no rework, no integration delays, and clean results. We don't try. We get the process right.

05

Proof

Every system is tested under real operating conditions against its original design specification. This is where values are set, behaviors are confirmed, and programming is finalized. Commissioning isn't a checklist. It's the reason things work on Monday morning.

06

Training

We schedule hands-on training with your team before the project closes. Your people walk through operation, common scenarios, and troubleshooting so they leave the room ready to run it themselves.

07

First Use Period

Our job doesn't end at handoff. Every project includes a complimentary 12-month craftsmanship warranty and a first-use period where your team puts the system to work in their real environment. Some preferences only surface with use, and we want to hear about them. The system should fit the way your people actually work, not just the way it was designed.

Common Questions

How long does a typical commercial AV installation take?
Most single-room installations are completed in 1–3 weeks from mobilization. Multi-room or campus-wide projects are phased over several weeks to several months depending on scope, construction coordination, and commissioning requirements. We provide a detailed timeline during the design phase so there are no surprises.
Do you handle the design and engineering or just the installation?
We handle the full cycle: consultation, system design, engineering, procurement, installation, programming, and commissioning. The team that designs your system is the same team that builds and programs it. This prevents gaps from forming between goals and execution.
Can you work with our general contractor or architect?
Yes. We coordinate with general contractors, architects, and IT departments on both new construction and retrofit projects. We can come in early during design development or later during build-out. We adapt to your project timeline and coordinate across trades to keep AV on schedule without creating conflicts.
What does commissioning include?
Commissioning is our formal verification process. Every system's design specifications are tested under real operating conditions. Results are documented, and end-user training is scheduled as part of closeout. Additional deliverables, including as-built documentation and quick-start guides, are scoped based on your needs.
Do you provide training for our staff after installation?
Yes. End-user training is included in every project. We walk your team through operation, common scenarios, and basic troubleshooting so they're confident from day one. Quick-start guides and train-the-trainer sessions are available and can be tailored to your team's needs.
What happens if something goes wrong after the project is complete?
Every new installation includes a one-year craftsmanship and system warranty. During that period, you have direct access to IKBSystems for support, adjustments, and troubleshooting. After the warranty period, we offer Lifecycle Management agreements with defined response times and priority support for ongoing coverage.
Do you work with specific AV manufacturers?
We are authorized dealers and certified programmers for leading commercial AV manufacturers. We specify equipment based on your requirements and environment, not vendor incentives.
What types of spaces do you typically integrate?
We work across the commercial spectrum: corporate offices, universities, houses of worship, and beyond. If your space needs people to hear, see, present, or collaborate, it's likely a fit. We're happy to talk through your specific environment and use cases.
