We have classrooms that all work differently. How do you fix that?
One way this is ultimately addressed is with standardization. This means a common system architecture across shared room types: classroom, lecture hall, seminar room, etc. The outcome is a campus where every room of the same type works the same way. Faculty stop submitting tickets about unpredictable behavior. Your AV team supports one configuration per room type instead of a unique setup in every building. Can faculty actually use these systems without training?
Indeed. We believe a professor should be able to walk into any classroom on campus and start teaching without instructions. We build standardized control interfaces through our in-house Custom Programming that makes every room on campus operate the same way. The touch panel wakes the display, selects the source, and sets the audio. If it works in one room, it works in every room. No manual required.
How does lecture capture work in a standardized classroom?
Faculty press record, teach, press stop. That is the experience. Where the recording goes depends on your institution: it can publish directly to your LMS, record to local or network storage, or route through an automated delivery workflow. The room is designed with capture in mind from the start, with the camera position, microphone coverage, and encoding method selected for the specific space and use case.
